Tandem Skydive
Tandem Skydive is one of two options Skydive Big Sky offers in order for you to experience your first jump. A Tandem Skydive is where you are physically attached to an instructor by a harness. This allows you the thrill of freefall with the comfort of an experienced instructor.
You exit the aircraft in tandem from 10,000 feet above the ground, freefall for approximately a half of a minute. Together you and your professional skydiving instructor will pilot the parachute to the ground. After just 30 minutes of training you will be on your way to the experience of a lifetime!
Solo Skydive
Skydive Big Sky provides you with all the training required so that you can skydive on your own!
Yes that means you will be able to climb out of the aircraft and jump on your own! You will have the aid of a professional skydiver in the plane.
Once you are under parachute you are free to fly! A professional instructor will be on radio with you for any assistance you may require while you fly back to earth.
We will fly the aircraft to 4,000 feet above the ground. When we are at jumping altitude we will open the door to a very strong wind that seems a little intimidating at first but you get used to it quickly after the adrenalin rush takes over. You will then move toward the door and take your first steps into space.
Gradual Freefall
Once you have completed the first jump course and made your first skydive you are put on student status and may continue to do training via the Gradual Freefall training program to become a licensed skydiver.
Your on board instructor continues to aid you with your jumps until you demonstrate the ability to open your main parachute through your practice pulls. Your first freefall will be approximately three seconds before you open your main parachute by yourself for the first time.
Prorgessive Freefall
In the Progressive Freefall (PFF) program a student skydiver jumps with one or two PFF Instructors from 9,500 feet or higher. This will give you approximately 35 seconds of freefall to work on specific tasks that you and your own personal instructors have practiced on the ground before you have boarded the aircraft.
Progression through the program is done in sequence. Progression with some tailoring is allowed to benefit the student.
Tandem Accelerated Freefall
Tandem Skydive is one of the options Skydive Big Sky offers in order for you to experience your first jump. A Tandem Skydive is where you are physically attached to an instructor by a harness. This allows you the thrill of freefall with the comfort of an experienced skydiving instructor.
You exit the aircraft in tandem from 10,000 feet above the ground, freefall for approximately a half of a minute, and then you descend under a parachute designed for two.
The Tandem Accelerated Freefall (TAFF) program provides a means of teaching a student from the first jump through to SOLO with the use of tandem and freefall jumps with an instructor. |
Skydive Big Sky has a flawless safety record with no fatalities. All of our Tandem Masters and Jump Masters have been professionally trained and adhere to the guidelines set forth and regulated by the Canadian Sport Parachute Association.
